He was predeceased by: his parents, O. W. Coggin and Erin Young Coggin; his brothers, Ollie Coggin and Sammy Coggin; and his son Burgess Coggin.

He is survived by: his wife Judy Coggin; his daughters, Melanie Ann Coggin and Jennifer Coggin; and his sister-in-law Sandy Stratton. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
