Andrew Helal wrote a sympathy message

“I hadn't seen Tom since college at W.Va. Tech until 2016 at a Sigma Phi Epsilon reunion held in Nashville, TN. There, we reconnected as fraternity brothers often do. We became email pals and stayed in touch ever since. Intelligent, caring, and with a good sense of humor, Tom had a very interesting and successful career. My heartfelt condolences go out to Betty and the family, whom he adored. Rest in peace, Brother Tom....you are sorely missed.”
