He was predeceased by: his wife Helen Varner; his son Kent Varner; and his brother Byron Curtis Varner Jr.. He is survived by: his son Joey Varner (Janice) of Evergreen; his sister Polly Hall of Evergreen; and his grandchildren, Heather Varner and Josh Varner (Jeana). He is also survived by four great-grandchildren.
