He was predeceased by: his wife Faye Smith Griffin; his daughter Debra Griffin Booker; his parents, Rufus Griffin and Roxie Griffin; and his siblings, Lois Riley, Emma Dearmon, Corine Pipkins and Bill Griffin.
He is survived by: his children, Johnnye Fay Miller of Evergreen, Rachel Tyner of Pensacola and Jimmy Booker (Inez) of California; and his grandchildren, Evan Miller (Charity), Chad Miller (Julie), Jason Miller (Tina), Kristy Blanco (Luis), Jon Tyner (Angie), Justin Tyner (Christi) and Joanna Smith (James). He is also survived by 17 great-grandchildren.
