It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Doris S. Knight of Evergreen, Alabama, who passed away on October 23, 2024, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the soft embrace of remembrance, we recall the profound impact Doris had on those she encountered along her journey. Though Doris may have slipped beyond the veil of mortality, her essence lingers like a faint fragrance in the air, a lingering reminder of the beauty and complexity of the human experience.
She was predeceased by: her husbands, Fisher Covin and Charles Knight; her parents, Robert Lee Salter and Claudia Mae Salter; and her son Theron Michael Covin.
She is survived by: her children, John Darwin Covin (Teresa) of Evergreen, Miles Covin (Becky) of Evergreen, Alan Covin (Liz) of Hattiesburg, Miss, Mary Jo Thompson (Jimmy) of Tuscaloosa and Leigh Darby (Todd) of Evergreen. She is also survived by 18 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
A graveside service was held on Friday, October 25th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Olive Branch Baptist Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Gideon's International or Ronald McDonald House in Pensacola, Fla.
