He is survived by: his wife Kathy Kast Sims; his children, Stacey Hamilton of Biloxi, Mississippi and Joseph Shannon Sims (Stephanie) of Robertsdale, Alabama; his grandchildren, Samuel, Anna and Margaret Miller; and his siblings, Jeannete Weaver, Wayne Sims (Sherry), Lomax Sims (Elaine) and Annette McCreary. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews.
