He was predeceased by: his parents, James J. Childers and Ferrol Melissa Ford Childers; his wife Mozelle Eidson Childers; and his sisters, Imogene Childers Mosteller and Desmonee Childers Driver.

He is survived by: his children, Terry Childers (Rita) and Annette Childers Newman (Robert); his siblings, S. D. Childers (Annie), Ronald Childers (Brenda), Edsel Childers (Sharon) and Lorene Childers Saddler; his grandchildren, Selina Childers Snider (Will), Nick Childers (Kelly) and Amber Newman Baker (Clint); and his great grandchildren, Kelsey Huff, Keely Childers, Kensley Childers, Shelby Snider, Levi Baker, Benjamin Baker, Nick Childers, Clint Baker, Phillip Eidson, Johnny Persall and Cutter Eidson.

In lieu of flowers: Memorial donations may be made to Comfort Care Hospice of Morgan County and Kindred Home Health of Cullman County.
