She was predeceased by: her parents, Melvin Alec Hardin and Ruby Vesta Morris Hardin; her husband Fred V. Summerford; and her siblings, Venera H. Howse and Herman Hardin.

She is survived by: her great grandchildren, T. J. Holmes, Justin Holmes (Jessie), Weston Hopkins (Erin), Emma Hopkins, Elijah Hopkins, Anna Katherine Hopkins, Evan Hopkins and Asher Hopkins. She is also survived by Three Great Great Grandchildren.
