It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Dorothy Gilbert of Eufaula, Alabama, who passed away on July 17, 2021, at the age of 59, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her father Author Gilbert; and her brother Cedrick Gilbert. She is survived by: her mother Daisy Gilbert; her sons, Tyrone Gilbert, Lamont Gilbert, Derrick Gilbert, Kendall Gilbert and Jaquez Stanford; her siblings, Joyce Gilbert, Arleen Kennedy, Mary Gilbert, Carolyn Gilbert (Robert), Caroline McCray (Gregg), Sharon Adams (Earnest), Latasha Gilbert, Greg Bishop, Robert DeAndre Lampley and Monica Lampley; her grandchildren, Briauna Gilbert, Audrey Gilbert, Tyrone Gilbert, Jr., Lakenya Gilbert, Kentrell Gilbert, Paris Gilbert and Shania Gilbert; and her aunts and uncles, Katherine Herron of Hempstead, NY, Mary Gladys McLendon of Baldwin, NY, Jane Exum of Ozark, AL, Bobbie Ree Walker of Louisville, AL, Roy McLendon (Lela), Nathan Gilbert Midway (Ruby) and Bishop Mitchell Gilbert (Susie). She is also survived by three great-grandchildren.
