He was predeceased by: his parents, George Wilson Wharton, Sr. and Edith Wright Wharton Elmore; and his sister Peggy Perrigin. He is survived by: his wife Betty Boothe Wharton of Ethelsville; his son Brian Wharton (Cricket) of Ethelsville; his grandsons, Daniel Wharton of Hattiesburg, MS and Isaac Wharton of Ethelsville; and his siblings, Johnny Wharton of Aliceville and Brenda Peeks (Jerry) of Millport. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
