He was predeceased by: his wife Laura Jane Fleming Styes; his children, Larry Leon Styes Jr. and Sharon Anna Styes; his parents, Virgil Tucker Styes and Mary Etta Burns Styes; and his siblings, Charlie Styes, James Styes, Billy Styes, Geraldine Styes Langlinais, Darriah Styes Channell, Julia Styes Robertson and Bernice Styes Greenlee.

He is survived by: his son Doug Styes (Kim); his grandson Tucker Styes of Newnan, GA; and his siblings, Harold Styes of Lilburn, GA and Peggy Styes Greenlee of Prattville, AL..
