He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Payne and Faye Payne; and his parents-in-law, Theron and Thelma Turner. He is survived by: his wife Brenda Payne of Enterprise, AL; his children, Trina Kay Smith (James), Melanie Denise Payne of Albany, GA, Donald Paul Messerly (Alice) and William J. Payne Jr. of Albany, GA; and his siblings, Robert Lee Payne (Candy) and Teresa Chapman (Bill) of Albany, GA.. He is also survived by ten grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.
