He was predeceased by: his parents, James Benjamin Martin and Avonia Morton Martin; and his siblings, Inez Moates, Berta Brabham Deese, Gladys Baggett (Taddie), Tope Martin, Mary Love Turney, Zona Lee Mullins, Evelyn Stanley (Dee), Elizabeth Sophronia Allen, Anne Provost Kottman and James Fernando Martin Sr..
He is survived by: his wife Charlene Wassum Martin of Enterprise, AL; his children, Anne Marie Martin Bliss (Daniel) of Enterprise, AL and Edwin Thomas Martin; his grandchildren, Elizabeth Danielle Bliss, Stephen Philip Bliss (Alyssa), Benjamin Edwin Bliss and Kyle Matthew Bliss (Allie); and his great grandchildren, Amery, Matthew, Joseph, Denise, Lauren, Shaun, Kayden and Hallie. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
