He was predeceased by: his mother Alta Maples. He is survived by: his father Fred Maples; his wife Marty Maples; his children, Jerrie Burns (Jeff), Tony Maples (Tammie), John Maples (Chasity), Ron Guthrie (Taunya) and Jennifer Hamrick (Brett); his siblings, Donnis Terry (Joe), Rhonda Graves (Randy) and Van Maples (Donna); and his daughter Lily. He is also survived by numerous grand-children, great-grandchildren, friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alzheimer's Association of Central Alabama or John Carroll Catholic High School.
