He was predeceased by: his mother Loretta Diffy; his stepfather Paul Ratcliff; and his brothers, Gary and Larry Johnson. He is survived by: his children, Terry (Morgan Johnson) of Empire, David (Erin Johnson) of Panama City, FL, Berry Johnson of Panama City, FL, Austin (Crystal Wilbert) of Cullman and Charlotte (James Rhodes) of Empire; and his sister Debra (Allen McCleney) of Mt. Olive. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
