He is survived by: his wife Hazel Spires Smith; his children, Christopher Smith and Kelly Smith Berdeaux (Matthew); his grandchildren, Patrick Hayden Smith (Kim) and Mackenzie Dru Smith; his brother-in-law Richard L. Johnson; his niece Donna Christopher; and his siblings-in-law, Gerald Bryant (Jeannie), Nellene Spires Shewbart (Dwight) and Jennie Roberts (Paul). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
