Virginia Elizabeth Starnes Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Virginia Elizabeth Starnes of Elkmont, Alabama, who passed away on February 23, 2025 at the age of 85. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Raymond David Crumpler, Sr. and Mary Elizabeth Williams Crumpler; her husband Thomas E. Starnes, Jr.; her brother Raymond David Crumpler, Jr.; her sister-in-law Joyce Pate Crumpler; and her sister Judy Crumpler Pate.
She is survived by: her son Stephen Craig Herring (Rita); her stepdaughter Tanya Byrn (David); her grandchildren, Taylor Cody Herring (Chelsea), Jack Andrew Mullinax (Carly), David Byrn Jr. and Erin Byrn Arent; and her sisters, Joan Brogden and Linda Crumpler Pike. She is also survived by six great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 14th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Joyners Funeral Home & Crematory (4100 Raleigh Rd Pkwy W, Wilson, NC 27896). A graveside service will be held on Saturday, March 15th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Evergreen Memorial Gardens (2800 Nash St N, Wilson, NC 27896).
