He was predeceased by: his parents, Charlie Edgar Eckstein and Eva Marie Watkins Eckstein; his son Jeremy Shane Eckstein; and his brothers, Ray and Ricky Eckstein.
He is survived by: his wife Janice Eckstein of Elkmont, AL; his sons, John Michael Eckstein of Elkmont, AL and Jason Matthew Eckstein of Elkmont, AL; his sisters, Patricia Eckstein Smith of Athens, Linda Dugger of Ardmore and Angela DuBois of Elkmont; his great-niece Lucy Hatchett; and his great-nephew Sam Hatchett of Athens.
