He was predeceased by: his parents, Othor Thornton and Pat Thornton. He is survived by: his son Daniel Thornton; and his siblings, Dawn Rudd, Mark Thornton and Anita Westfall (Aaron). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
