He was predeceased by: his parents, Benjamin Franklin Motes and Ruth Helen Motes; and his siblings, Betty Faye Blythe, Susie Gail Terry and Ricky Motes.
He is survived by: his wife Joyce Motes; his children, Edmon Motes (Tiffany), Sam, Andy Motes (Mary), Jen Wagner (Matt) and Cassie Grimes (Jered); his grandchildren, Brady Motes (Hannah), Gracie Motes, Dacey Motes, Ty Motes, Jack Wagner, Drake Motes, Raegan Motes and Kamrin Motes; and his siblings, Buddy Motes (Patti), Annie Ruth Rust, Bob Motes, Benny Motes, Frankie English (Rod), Benjamin "June Bug" Motes, Dimple Kanipe (Shorty), Frances Ann Moss (JD) and Linda Motes. He is also survived by many nieces, and nephews he loved.
Visitation was held on Thursday, December 19th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Pine Rest Funeral Home (16541 US-98, Foley, AL 36535). A funeral service was held on Thursday, December 19th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location.
His extra special nephew Jamey Lee Pearden who he and his family will forever be grateful for, for the extra 17+ years of life he was given because of his kidney donation.
