He was predeceased by: his parents, Ely Aughtman and Lucille Aughtman (Nee Houston); his siblings, Bobby Aughtman, Georgia Lee Lawson, Wayman Aughtman, Royce Aughtman and Linda Chenoweth; and his great grandchild Briella Barber.
He is survived by: his friend Truman; his wife Betty; his children, Lisa Denham (Andy), Todd Aughtman, Paul Aughtman (Deanna), Howard Fussell (April), Stephen Hughes (Michele) and Mary Walker (Todd); his grandchildren, Brittany Barber (Johhny), Wesley Devenney, Alex Devenney, Braxton Roberts, William Aughtman, Jaxon Aughtman, Quade Fussell, Brooklyn Fussell, Stephen Hughes (Kyanna), Laura Hughes, Kimber Spencer (Daniel) and Emma; his great grandchildren, Mircey Blanton (Ethan), Braygen Barber, Elly Barber, Dalton Devenney, Camden Devenney, Aubree Devenney and Odin Devenney; his great great grandchild Mila Donnelly; and his siblings, JoAnn Grissett and Larry Aughtman (Carolyn). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins.
Visitation was held on Friday, February 14th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Valhalla Funeral Home (8730 Sims Rd, Eight Mile, AL 36613). A funeral service was held on Friday, February 14th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Valhalla Chapel (8730 Sims Rd, Eight Mile, AL 36613). A burial was held on Friday, February 14th 2025 at the Valhalla Memorial Gardens (8730 Sims Rd, Eight Mile, AL 36613).
