He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, James Edward and Mary Ethel Hewett; his wives, Mildred D. Hewett and Nancy A. Hewett; his sons, John E. Hewett, Billy Joe Sewell (Terri) and James E. Sewell (Faye); his stepchildren, Adam Helveston (Mary), Terri Williams (Mike), Sherri Bohannon and Toni Coffey; and his siblings, Sonny Hewett and Brenda Ann Knight (John).
