He is survived by: his wife Mary Jane Buck Smyly; his children, David L. Smyly, Steven S. Smyly (Melissa), Connie L. Lear (Kevin) and Jeannine M. Krellwitz; and his siblings, Gary Smyly and India Goss. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
