He was predeceased by: his brother Johnny Bennett; and his parents, J. C. Bennett and Nelsie Marie Tillman Bennett. He is survived by: his children, Sonya Goree (Scottie), Curry Bennett (Emily) and Kendall Bennett (Chelsea); his siblings, Stanley Bennett (Betty), Sherry Hall, Susan Mozingo and Stacy Bennett (Sammy Channell); and his grandchildren, Emma Bennett, Lee Goree, Chloe Bennett, Kyndall Bennett, Preston Goree, Stella Bennett, Crews Bennett, Lettie Bennett, Matt Goree and Asa Bennett.
Visitation was held on Saturday, February 1st 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Shady Grove Baptist Church (9308 Co Rd 26, Berry, AL 35542). A memorial service was held on Saturday, February 1st 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to Gideons International, Pickens County Camp, P.O. Box 287, Carrollton, AL 35447.
