She was predeceased by : her husband James Clifford Haynes; her parents, Catherine Rickson of Virginia and Henderson Dempsey; her stepparents, Sandra Dempsey and Jerry Rickson; and her brothers, Danny Rickson, Gary Rickson, John Dempsey and Larry Dempsey.

She is survived by : her children, James K. Haynes and Kathryn Padgett (Dustan); her granddaughter Samantha Padgett; and her siblings, Terry Rickson, Jody Dempsey, Rodney Dempsey and Dana Diane 'Deede Dempsey.
