She was predeceased by : her husband Ricky Powell; her parents, Melvin Jackson Bowman and Ethel Myrtis Bowman; and her brothers, Dixon Bowman and Edward Bowman.

She is survived by : her daughters, Angela Ray and Lisa Singleton; her sister Ann Patterson; and her grandchildren, Megan Honea, Wes Singleton, Kasy Harkenrider, Kelci Gramling and Courtney Ray. She is also survived by eight great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
