He was predeceased by: his son James Michael Phillips III (Trey); his sister Kimberly Oswalt; and his grandfathers, Bobby Joe Milam and James Phillips. He is survived by: his wife Tammy Morgan Phillips; his children, Shawn Robinson (Denise), Jacob Tyler Phillips, Lachelle Phillips, Jessica Phillips Hansford (Jacob) and Bella Phillips; his grandchildren, Corey Smith, Karleigh Smith, Hunter Phillips, Wrenlee Phillips, Marlow Robinson and Paisleigh Hansford; his parents, Rev. James Michael Phillips and Martha Phillips; his grandmother Sarah Reaves; his aunts, Shelly Thornell, Sandy Peavey, Debbie Reaves and Shirley Roberts; his uncle Harvey Reaves; and his niece Ashley Holder.
Visitation was held on Sunday, April 6th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Miller Funeral Home (50 Hamric Dr E, Oxford, AL 36203). A funeral service was held on Sunday, April 6th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Sunday, April 6th 2025 at the Hopeful Baptist Church Cemetery (3984 Cheaha Rd, Munford, AL 36268).
Mike had a passion for helping and serving others which led him to finding the compassion in his heart to donate his organs to those in need.
