He was predeceased by: his parents, Willie Benjamin Scott and Effie Delaine Bennett Scott; his former wife Frances Graham Scott; his son Johnny Steven Scott; his grandson Johnny Edward Scott; and his siblings, Buck, Billy Scott, Julia Gaines, Sally Mosier and Clarice Faulk.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley Stewart Scott of East Brewton; his daughter Cheryl Knowles (Robert) of East Brewton; his daughter-in-law Shelli Scott of Kings Mountain, NC; his grandchildren, Scott Knowles (Mallory) of Summerdale, AL, Lee Knowles (Tiffany) of Brewton and Katie Cheatham (Michael) of Grand Bay; his great grandchildren, Grayson Knowle, Graham Knowles, Ella Knowles, Mattie Knowles, Carter Knowles, Emery Scott, Makayla Cheatham and Michael Cheatham, Jr.; his stepgrandchildren, Dustin Malett (Jasmin), Michael Malett and Erin Malett; and his stepgreat-grandchildren, Dottie Malett, Wallace Malett, Will Smith, Alivia Smith and Hannah Smith.
