He was predeceased by: his wife Betty Jean Cooley; his parents, George W. Cooley and Eula O. Cooley; his daughter Teresa McCullough; and his siblings, Lee, Lewis, Tommy, Rotha, Wesley Cooley, Jeanette Johnson, Effie Fountaine and Evie Smith.

He is survived by: his son Jeffery Cooley (Amy) of Duncanville; his grandchildren, Brad McCullough (Devin), Jeremy Cooley and Jordan Cooley (Jessica); and his great grandchildren, Jameson Thomas Cooley, Charli Rae Henson, Kastin McCullough and Hallie McCullough.
