He was predeceased by: his parents, John William and Willie Mae Johnson of Quitman Mississippi; and his brothers, John Burke, Daniel "Red" Perry, Charles Johnson and Bobby Johnson.
He is survived by: his wife Kathy; and his children, Jerry Johnson (Tami), Derk Smith (Sherry), Christy Cleary (Mike), Kimberly Watson (Jason) and John Johnson (Ashley). He is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
