He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Dozier and Lucille Pendry; and his siblings, Erma J. Dozier, Tommy Dozier, Reginald Dozier, Byron Dozier and Noel Dozier.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Jo of Rose Hill; his children, Grant Dozier, Hannah Moore (Tom) of Rose Hill, Sallie Dozier of Dothan and Ann Dozier of Canton, GA; his grandson Jeremy Moore (Tina) of Fort Hood, TX; his daughters, Julie Moore of Andalusia, AL, Ashley Denmark (Calen) of Cochran, GA, Courtney Lechner (Michael) of Evans, GA, Autumn Trammell (Rachael) of Andalusia, AL and Bronwyn Petrey (Tristan) of Andalusia, AL; and his brother Addison M. Dozier. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Flowers will be accepted or donations can be made to the Mt. Gilead Baptist Church building fund in memory of Sammy J. Dozier.
