He was predeceased by: his parents, William Solon and Gladys Waldine Jacobs Whitehead; and his son Donald Whitehead. He is survived by: his children, James C. Whitehead of Tennessee, Michael Lynn Whitehead of Birmingham, Roger Whitehead of Gulf Shores and Marilyn Ruth Doster of Tennessee; and his siblings, William Billy Max Whitehead, Lavel Whitehead, Marlon Whitehead, Johny Whitehead and Anna Kate Grimes. He is also survived by Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren and Great Great Grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to Shepherd's Cove Hospice, 408 Martling Road, Albertville, AL 35951.
