He was predeceased by: his parents, Awyer Nelson and Ivah Overton Tyler. He is survived by: his wife Ellen Nelson; his children, Clint Nelson (Elizabeth), Johnny Nelson, Donna Lay (Richard), Anthony Nelson (Belinda) and Karen Abney (JJ); and his siblings, Vivian Sutherland (Doyle), Mary McCullar and Perry Nelson (Carolyn). He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
