He was predeceased by: his parents, Rev. Willie Smith and Mary Smith; his children, Gregory Zack Smith and Tabitha Preist Smith; and his siblings, Ellen Collins, Evelyn Mardis, Mary Respress, Jack Smith and Emma J. Baxter.
He is survived by: his grandchildren, Angela Britt (Kenneth), Keshia Gray (Melvin), Mary Goods (Roney) and Tonya Allen (Andre); his daughter Barbara Bulger; his grandchildren, Kim, Jamar, Courtnee, Kelli, Bria, Bryan, Malcolm, Destinee, Isaiah, Zachary, Gabrielle, Jada, Gavin, Rashad, Ezra, Kyle and Kirsten; his wife Lillie; and his siblings, Paul Smith, Phillip Smith, Bishop C. Smith, Betty Smith and Linda J. Thornton. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
