He was predeceased by: his wife Liz; his parents, John Bortner and Leona Bortner; his parent-in-law George Denton; his brother John Bortner (Phil); his brothers-in-law, Robert Denton and Howard Ralph; and also Flossie Denton.
He is survived by: his children, Howard Bortner (Butch) of Richmond, VA, Jeffery Bortner (Jack) of Richmond, VA and Lois Melito; his daughter-in-law MaryLou Bortner of Chester, VA; his grandchildren, Amanda Schock, Shawna Stewart of Chester, VA, Alan Bortner (Meraris) of South Chesterfield, VA, Nicole Leaf (Carol) of Charleston, SC and Andrew Leaf (Sommer) of Palm Bay, FL; his brother Frank Robert Bortner (Bob); his sister-in-law Shirley Bortner Tharp (Jim) of Bozeman, MT; and also Aunt Lois Link of Lutz, FL. He is also survived by daughter from the Philippines, Ma Inez Feria who were reunited in Oct 2017 after 30 years, along with many cousins, nieces and nephews, friends.
