He was predeceased by: his parents, Mandy Melissa Lloyd and James Clanton Nelson; and his wives, Inez Meek and Beth Phillips. He is survived by: his children, Glenn Nelson (Loujean Loftin), Edmon Nelson (Nina Stephens) and Charlotte Branton (Danny); and his grandchildren, Jannalee Duke, Paul Nelson, Neil Nelson, James Nelson, Jason Nelson, Mary Katherine Branton-Housley and Christina Head.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to First Baptist Church of Dothan or Wiregrass Hope.
