He was predeceased by: his parents, Dixon C. Sr and Laura Johnson Ward, Sr.; and his brother Dixon C. Ward, Jr.. He is survived by: his children, Kevin A. Ward (Soyini) and Marian M. Ward (Eric, Sr.); his grandchildren, Eric Ward, Jr. and Erika L. Ward; his sisters, Mae Olivia Jackson (Joseph) and Gladys W. Hooker; his siblings-in-law, Willie Mathews (Ethel), Westley Matthews (Tommie), Willie A. Seals and Juanita Mickles; and his friend Johnnie Campbell. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
