He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Whatley and Elizabeth Cox Whatley; his wife Gennine; and his siblings, Robert Whatley, Jr., Bill Whatley, Katherine Botscoe and Priscilla Hall.
He is survived by: his children, Terri Knowles, Johnny Whatley, Jr. (Angi) and Russell Whatley (Anita); his grandchildren, Shannon Smith, Matthew Smith (Kimberly), Brynn Dresser (Sam), Kadin Whatley (Kira), Blake Whatley and Britton Whatley; his great grandchildren, Andrew Davis, Dylan Smith, Griff Smith and Eli Dresser; his siblings, Mickey Whatley and Bobbie Whatley; and his son Blake.
Visitation was held on Sunday, January 26th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Bethlehem Baptist Church (416 Bethlehem Rd, Midland City, AL 36350). A celebration of life was held on Sunday, January 26th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
Flowers are being accepted or memorial contributions may be made in his honor to Bethlehem Baptist Church.
