He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Melvin Goodwin and Opal Grace Paul Goodwin; his sons, Dean A. Wilson and Robert Dean Harris; and his siblings, Jack Wilson and Linda Wilson.

He is survived by: his wife Sandra Wilson of Dothan, AL; his sons, Damon Wilson (Rachel) of Enterprise, AL and Adam Wilson (Kisha) of Cowarts, AL; his grandchildren, Britney Wilson Wallace, Chandler Wilson, Brandon Harris, Christopher Harris and Jessie Harris; his great grandchildren, Isabella and Laiklyn; and his siblings, Gary Wilson (Nancy), Rita Horner and Joyce Ditto. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
