He was predeceased by: his parents, William McAlister and Sara McAlister (Williams); his daughter Jerri Lynn McAlister Hovey; his brother Billy McAlister; his parents-in-law, Kedrick Durden and Martha Durden; and his brothers-in-law, Earl Durden and Bob Price.

He is survived by: his wife Sandra Durden McAlister; his daughter Paige McAlister Evans; his grandchildren, Cade Hovey, Cassie Hovey, Garon Hovey, Durden Smith and Madi Thompson; his great grandchildren, Avery Hovey and Mac Hovey; and his siblings-in-law, Quinn McAlister, Karen Durden, Charlotte Price, Judy Duell (Ron), Roger Durden (Barbara), Wynell Dawsey (Walter "Chunky") and Lawrence Durden (Patsy).

Jerry Lamar "Skeet" McAlister, 78, of Dothan, AL., passed away on October 17, 2018 surrounded by his family after a long battle with Alzheimer's.
