He was predeceased by: his sister Sharon Mann; and his parents, Lowell Champion and Frances Champion. He is survived by: his wife Ann Champion of Loxley, AL; his children, Nicole Anderson (Donnie) of Silverhill, AL and Chris Champion (Nikki) of Olive Branch, MS; and his brother Bill Champion (Becky) of Barlett, TN. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Highland Park United Methodist Church or to the American Heart Association.
