He is survived by: his wife Eulene Wood; his children, Grace Elaine Covington (Scott) and James Evan Wood (Rachel); his grandchildren, Cortney Miller (Jordan), Jake Hayes, Owen Wood and Mills Wood; his great grandchild Jacob Hayes; his stepchildren, Earl Steely (Shelly), Sharon Tidwell (Dale) and Melanie Hicks (Barry); and his stepgrandchildren, Brandon Steely, Sean Steely and Rebecca Tidwell.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Ridgecrest Baptist Church, 1231 Fortner Street, Dothan, AL 36301.
