With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Ellene Vance (Dothan, Alabama), born in Graceville, Florida, who passed away on February 22, 2024 at the age of 92. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Henry Clayton and Lemmie Florence Grant of Graceville, FL; and her siblings, Charles Grant and Betty Hagan. She is survived by: her husband Jonathan H. Vance of Vestavia Hills, AL; her daughter Susan; her son-in-law Michael Purvis of Spanish Forth, AL; her son Jon; her daughter-in-law Cathy Vance of Helena, AL; and her grandson Christopher Vance of Valdosta, Georgia.. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation to Dawson Memorial Baptist Church, Grace & Favor, or UAB Medicine Memory and Cognitive Disorders department.
