He is survived by: his children, Kenneth Jamie Gilbert (Kim), Phillip Darin Gilbert (Lisa) and Velta Jenenne Gilbert Boyd; his grandchildren, Lauren Hicks (Gary), Magan Thobosi (Tumelo), Kyle Gilbert, Candace Griffin (Taylor), Cody Gilbert (Chelsea), Logan Boyd and Abby Piper (Hayden); and his great grandchildren, Joshua, Braylehn, Paisleigh, Finlee, Remy Sue, Matti, Deacon, Gibson, Naledi and Evie.
