He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Clay Graves, Sr. and Millard "Millie" Morgan Graves; and his sister Nancy Graves Jackson. He is survived by: his wife Mary Breck Stanfield Graves; his children, Lanier Graves Sammons (Doug), Katherine Graves Newell Shannon, James Stanfield Graves (Virginia) and John Breckenridge Graves; and his brother Samuel Patton Hand Graves (Ann). He is also survived by five grandchildren.
