He was predeceased by: his parents, Horace L. Richardson and Frances Greene Richardson; and his sister Gail Richardson Shelfer. He is survived by: his wife Betty Sue Evans Richardson; his children, Gordan Lan Richardson, Jr. (Lillian Hagood), Steven Richardson and Elizabeth Richardson O'Rourke (Michael); and his grandchildren, Gordan Lan "Trey" Richardson III (Chelsea), James "Sims" Richardson, Emma Richardson, John "Jack" O'Rourke and William "Lan" O'Rourke.

Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Demopolis.
