He was predeceased by: his parents, John Morris Avery and Geraldine Cartledge Avery; and his brother Sam Avery. He is survived by: his daughters, Randi Clark (Joey) and Katie Clinton; his brothers, Ronnald Avery (Darlene) and Ricky Avery; and his grandchildren, Austin Clinton, Emma Jones, Jaxon Clark, Brody Clark and Journni Farnham.
