He was predeceased by: his parents, Theodore G. Thom Sr. and Florine Mauldin Thom; his wife Geraldine Dunnivan Thom; his son Michael Gregory Thom; and his brother Ben Thom.

He is survived by: his daughter Angela Thom of Decatur.
