He was predeceased by: his parents, Sidney R. Barbee and Joyce Putman Barbee; and his brother Michael R. Barbee. He is survived by: his wife Teresa Shelton Barbee; his children, Christopher Barbee (Shay) and Meaghan Barbee Thrasher (Clint); his brothers, Tim Barbee (Kathy) and David Barbee (Karen); his grandchildren, Hayden Barbee (Casey Hughes), Meagan Barbee, Brandon Barbee, Cydney Barbee, Ayallah Thrasher and Adylinn Thrasher; his great grandchildren, Fischer Barbee, Daivyn Hughes, Zeppelin Hughes, Georgia Barbee, Rose Barbee, Lucy Barbee and Bentley Barbee; and his pets, Tipton and Beau. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, October 30th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Shelton Funeral Home Chapel (2105 Beltline Rd SW, Decatur, AL 35601). A graveside service was held on Thursday, October 31st 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Roselawn Cemetery.
