He is survived by: his siblings, Robert Lee Thorne (Betty Mayes) of Decatur, Charlie Thorne (Mattie) of Huntsville and Judy Thorne Birgans of Decatur. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
